\"Searchscapes\" is a three-dimensional
map of Manhattan built through web information. The goal is to compare
the physical representation of the city with the information representation
on the city. Following literally this concept, there’s a search
of a specific address through Google (ex: “1 Broadway”
+ “New York, NY”). This search will generate corresponding
results to this specific address. A “text building”
is then created in this place on the map, and its height corresponds
to the number of results founded. More results correspond to higher
“buildings”. This project attempts to materialize information,
giving dimension, form.
