Multiple cameras accessed randomly in real time to make an urban
tapestry. An evolving, generating artwork. The images are from taken
London and they happen as you see them in real time. Installation
versions of this work can be presented in art galleries using projectors
or plasma display. First made in 2002. Recently re tested and some
bugs ironed out for 2005. This now runs these twelve real time perpectives
of the emergent city experience. This \'film\' is constantly evolving
and will never be the same again, as each screen is a live real
time image from a camera in the city of London.
Genomixer
A series of online artworks inspired by the human genome sequence
and developed from dna profile which are sequenced from my blood.
The online artworks are investigations into genetic codes mapped
and re assembled online. The series enables a cross reference all
the code on the genome sequence allowing you to intermix or breed
your own variable; you can look at the new mix of chromosomes in
real time; on line. You can also keep and print this pattern from
the website. Works are enabled by dna code extracted from my blood.
The sounds and images of code make audio visual self portrait versions.
The next system will allow imput from dna user worldwide. The shop
offers the facility to have bed-spreads and curtains made in your
very own post genetic mix.....mutant. You can also purchase other
dna related artworks and artefacts. To make these works my dna was
sampled to make metaphases, g-banding and full profiles of chromosomes.
Samples of my dna currently resides in my freezer ready for cloning.
The centralcity
series if online investigations into urban identities....hundereds
of movies and interactive labyrinth. The form and content of this
work is a visual world of the city and its structure. Networks of
information technology are contrasted with organic networks and
city networks. The city becomes an organic network of grids and
diagrams. Started in 1997 last version 2004.....this is the last
and final version of this project.
Stanza is a UK based artist who specialises in
net art, multimedia, and electronic music. His award winning online
projects have been invited for exhibition in digital festivals around
the world, and Stanza also travels extensively to present his net
art, lecturing and giving performances of his audiovisual interactions.
Stanza is interested in the engagement of the public/audience as
a creative user across a variety of formats, from the web to cd
rom and gallery installation, and his extensive explorations gives
him a high level of expertise in this field.
