Artphone is an online performance. Everyone can
call me, and speak freely about contemporary art. It was first presented
at Free Manifesta, manifesta 4, in Frankfurt, and the medium was
a mobile phone. But this time as the festival is in Brazil, I thought
it would be more democratic to use online phone.
Camouflage is a work made for the online magazine
Homeless Monalisa. The theme sugested to artists was camouflage,
and therefore I based my project in a homonimous scoutboys game.
The camouflage game has a number of rules that inspired a closed
narrative and a non-interactive environment.
Susana Mendes Silva was born in Lisbon in 1972.
Works and lives in Lisbon, Portugal.
Has a Diploma in Sculpture-Visual Arts by the Fine Arts Faculty
of the University of Lisbon and participates in exhibitions since
1996.
In her work she has always tried to dislocate the established premises
by the world that surrounds us, subtly criticizing the conditions
and relations of the human being. She has used and experimented
several media - drawing, photograph, installation, objects, video,
among others - aware of the specificities of the projects or of
the spaces.
