Bethelem´s Bandolero - 4:00 - 2004
After years in exile, the Palestinian director returns to her native
town, Bethlehem, only to find out that the town has been divided
by the Israeli segregation wall. Unable to see friends and family,
Sansour sets out to confront the wall in an absurd duel exposing
the political madness of the region.
Larissa Sansour is a Palestinian artist working
mainly with video and installation. Her work is political, often
involving disturbing footage from the occupied territories and slick
and recontextualizing soundtracks.
Sansour received her Fine Arts education in London, New York and
Copenhagen. She has shown her work in various solo and group exhibitions
in America and Europe. She recently received an honorary award at
the Ramallah International Film Festival. She currently lives in
Copenhagen.
