Paisagens(pedra/folha)
Nature and man. This conflict has been explored many times in the
romantic painting from the 19th century. The man in contrast with
the power of nature. The forces of this nature front the minimal
human presence.
The falling man. Theme already developed in the Mannerist period
by Cornelis Cornelisz, from the series “The Four Disgraces”
through the themes, of Icarus, Phaeton, Tantalus and Ixion. Man
who developed such strong passions and desires that they were degraded,
fallen!
A steady camera in front of a natural landscape. Suddenly a body
in fall is thrown in the landscape cutting the contemplation and
even deforming it.
After a few seconds, the landscape starts to involve the body with
specific materials inherent to it. As if in a sick body, it creates
a membrane to attempt to insert or dissolve that strange body in
its totality.
Deformador Analógico
With the deforming of time and the characteristics of the face.
Through a performatic control the artist transits through various
faces and humors. Without any edition or electronic effect, this
video wants to ironies technology, decelerating and creating dilution
and reconstruction of this face using nothing but the human control.
The body becomes plastic matter and mixes with pictorial traditions
of portraits and self-portraits paintings.
